Calling aspiring vocalists to pit their singing prowess against that of their contemporaries, to fight it out for the prize and fame at stake.
Mr. Britto
Mr. Britto is the rhythm guitarist for Bangalore based Progressive Rock band, Parousia. His other side projects as a guitarist include Mood Logic and Metric Muse. In the past, he has been a member of the Methodist Church Choir in Pondicherry and the "100 male voices" - a Trivandrum based conglomeration of choirs. He started taking music lessons from his Grandmother, a Trinity school of music trained vocalist/violinist, when he was just 3. He listens to and appreciates any good music across the spectrum: from Western Classical to Metalcore.
Mr. Britto has adjudged various western electric competitions in Bangalore over the years: IIMB, PESIT, St.Josephs, Law College etc.
Deepak Lazarus
Deepak Lazarus, has always been involved with music from a very young age. He was handed the reins of the Sacred Hearts Church Choir when he was in the 7th grade and has been the organist and conductor of the choir ever since. Currently, he sings Tenor for various chorales including Rhythm and Groove. He currently works as a music teacher at National Public School, Rajajinagar and has previously worked at NAFL and St.Josephs. Recently, he also started to go solo, releasing singles like Thaniye Jeevan and O Come O Come Immanuel and is scheduled to put up performances in various venues across the city soon.
General Rules
- Number of participants per team: 1 vocalist + 1 Instrumentalist (Optional).
- Registrations will be accepted online at (www.unmaad.com) and on the spot at the registration desk on the day of the event.
- Only one instrument is allowed on stage at any point in time.
- The vocalist can choose to play the instrument himself/herself.
- The keyboard can be played only in the piano mode.
- Three teams are allowed per college.
Elimination Round
- This will be a test of vocal ability - adherence to pitch, tempo and quality of voice. One song is to be presented.
- Time limit is as per the discretion of the judge i.e. how long the judge requires to make a decision about the participant. The judge might ask for more spontaneous songs from the participants within the upper time limit of 3 minutes.
Final Round
- The participant will be given a time limit of 8 minutes and there is no limit on the number of songs to be performed. This time includes the time it takes to set up any instruments.
- Judging will be based on vocal abilities and overall stage presence.
