Amita Sharma, Fashion Designer
Amita's career as a fashion designer took shape at the J D Institute of Fashion Designing where she experimented with both ethnic and western wear.
Vibrant colors have always played a significant and they reflect her state of mind. Naturally they show in her creations. Amita believes fashion should be fun, colorful & above all, comfortable.Amita's label "AM COUTURE" is centered on couture designs that are comfortable and mirrors contemporary trends and styles dovetailed into a seamless fusion of cultures. Its effort is to bring the "unexpected everyday" in her collections.
Teams:
1. Each team can have a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 25 people on stage. All the members have to be from the same college.
2. The teams can bring along additional people to manage sound and light, though they will not be considered as part of the performing team.
3. Registrations will only be accepted online through the Unmaad website www.unmaad.com.
4. In case there are excessive registrations, an elimination round will be conducted prior to the event, the details of which will be communicated to the teams at a later stage.
5. The elimination round will be at the organizer's discretion and will be conducted on the spot. Teams will not be required to dress in costumes for the elimination round and will only be tested for the compering, music and sequencing and choreography.
Rounds
The finals shall consist of two choreographed sequences:
Free Style Round –
In this round, teams can present any sequence of their choice. Teams are free to be as innovative and creative as possible in terms of clothes, music, theme etc. Points shall be awarded for choice of music, choreography, choice of clothes and overall style. Additional points shall be awarded for the use of props and accessories such as bags, footwear, head-wear and belts. The time limit for this round is 10 minutes per team, with a grace time of + 2 minutes.
Theme Round –
The theme of this round is 'Rural India', it requires you to capture the essence of the people and villages of rural India. Be creative, and help yourself and your audience Escape Themselves, away into the untouched beauty and simplicity of rural life. Points shall be awarded for innovative designs, relevance to the given theme and the creativity in representing the theme, besides music, choreography and overall style. The time limit for this round is 6 minutes per team, with a grace time of + 1 minute.
1. The two rounds shall be conducted separately. The second round shall start only once all the teams have performed in the first round, and hence the teams shall have approximately 30 minutes to change for the second round.
2. Small dance sequences can be included in the presentation, but will not form a part of the judging criteria.
3. Teams will be penalized for not adhering to the given time limit.
Music and Compering
1. Use of a compere is allowed, however, the time for compering shall be included within the performance time of the team.
2. The teams are required to bring their own music on CDs in mp3/wav format (teams are required to give 2 copies on 2 separate CDs) and hand them over to the organizers at least 3 hours before the event commences. The organizers will provide the audio equipment to play the music.
Props
1. Each team will be provided with two mikes. Other props should be arranged by teams on their own. We may consider special requests for an extra prop based on its feasibility and availability.
2. Use of fire (even diyas, candles or lighters) and water is strictly prohibited.
Ramp
There will be only one ramp provided, which will tale – off from the centre of the stage, and will be directed towards the audience.
