Benny Prasad

Dr. Benny Prasad is a solo guitar instrumentalist who has travelled the globe to spread the hope in God through his life story and performing on his 20 string Bongo- Harp Guitar. He has travelled to 194 sovereign countries, 50 dependant countries and Antarctica thus 245 countries, 7 continents in 6 years, 6 months and 22 days- setting a new world record for the fastest time to visit 245 countries. He has also earned the honour of being the most travelled Indian musician (Limca Book of Records)

Born in Bangalore, Benny Prasad suffered from severe asthma in his early childhood. The medication he had to take led to the development of Rheumatoid Arthritis, 60% Lung damage and a regularly failing immune system which threatens his life even to this day.

As the first born, his family had high hopes for his future through his studies, but he struggled to live up to these expectations. Benny had lived a reckless youth and was filled with a quick temper and only excelled in forgery and lying. As being considered the shame of his family, he became so depressed that he attempted suicide at the age of 16. During a youth retreat he had an encounter with God that transformed his life ever since. God gave him new dreams, new goals and a positive desire. After he got saved, he developed an interest in playing music. From that moment to the present, he has performed before Presidents and Parliaments, before crowds of 2007 Military World Games, 2006 FIFA World Cup and the 2004 Olympic Games.

Today, through his music, Benny brings hope to thousands of people, from the least in slums, old age homes to prisons, war zones and military bases. Where he had once been a destroyer of creativity, he has now won fame by designing two guitars- the world s first Bongo Guitar and a 54 String Guitar called The Bentar.
